FM Calls for Full Implementation of UN Gaza Resolution

Cairo: Foreign Minister, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a telephone conversation on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, with his French counterpart Jean-No«l Barrot to discuss bilateral ties and the latest regional updates in the Middle East and North Africa. During the talks, Abdelatty stressed the importance of implementing the latest UN Security Council resolution on Gaza, calling for enabling an international stabilization force to carry out its mandate and consolidate the ceasefire for Palestinians in the Strip.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the two ministers reviewed the situation in Gaza, with Abdelatty outlining Egypt's ongoing efforts to maintain the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Agreement and implement all its provisions. They also discussed the conditions in Lebanon, where Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's firm position in support of the country's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, as well as its backing for national institutions working to preserve stability.

On Libya, Abdelatty stressed Egypt's support for a Libyan-led political path and the need to form a unified government capable of preparing for simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections. He also reiterated the call for the withdrawal of all foreign forces, fighters, and mercenaries from Libyan territory, in line with Security Council resolutions, to restore Libya's sovereignty and stability.
