Cairo: The Ministry of Health and Population launched on Sunday, September 13, 2026, the first activities held under its cooperation protocol with the Islamic Research Academy through a symposium titled "The Purposive Foundations of Treatment and the Physician's Mission," at the Princess Fatima Academy for Professional Medical Education in the presence of Islamic Research Academy Secretary-General Mohamed El-Gendy and Supreme Committee for Da'wah Assistant Secretary-General Dr. Hassan Yehia.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Health Ministry Spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar explained that the protocol enhances partnerships with community institutions to raise health awareness. It includes training religious preachers to disseminate health messages, preparing lectures for couples intending to marry, training trainers, and expanding awareness campaigns for individuals aged 18 and older alongside healthcare workers.

Assistant Minister for Public Health Initiative Projects Mohamed Hassani emphasized that this cooperation introduces doctors to the psychological and human dimensions of patients alongside physical care. This approach is aimed at building trust and improving treatment adherence while underscoring that human values and preserving patient dignity remain fundamental to medicine.

Islamic Research Academy Secretary-General Mohamed El-Gendy affirmed that medicine is a humanitarian mission built on integrity, competence, and compassion. He noted that physician responsibilities extend beyond treatment to easing suffering, safeguarding mental well-being, prioritizing preventive care, supporting vulnerable segments, and maintaining strict confidentiality without discrimination.

Supreme Committee for Da'wah Assistant Secretary-General Hassan Yehia noted that a doctor's role encompasses moral and humanitarian responsibilities focused on prevention, healthcare, and preserving human dignity to ensure comprehensive public well-being.
