Health Minister Engages NCERI Officials to Enhance Technical Education and Labor Market Skills

Cairo: Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar engaged in discussions with officials from the National Council for Education, Research, and Innovation (NCERI) to focus on improving technical education, university programs, scientific research, and the skills required for the labor market.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdel Ghaffar met with Salma El Bakry, the Head of the council's Technical Secretariat, and Mahmoud Hamza, a Secretariat member, at the ministry's headquarters in the New Capital. Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar stated that the meeting emphasized the council's role in coordinating education, scientific research, and innovation, with the aim of preparing qualified professionals to keep pace with scientific and technological advancements.

The discussions included plans for collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education to enhance technical education and align efforts with the National Qualifications and Skills Framework and the National Labor Market Index. Additionally, officials explored cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to develop new university specializations.

Further topics of discussion at the meeting included the establishment of a research and studies unit within the council's Technical Secretariat, and the creation of a committee to assess and enhance university and pre-university education. The legal status of the Technical Secretariat and its proposed budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year were also examined.
