Cairo: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar held a meeting with representatives from Johnson and Johnson in Egypt to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in the health sector, at the ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.According to State Information Service Egypt, the minister began the meeting by welcoming Mr. Ahmed El-Houfi, the company's managing director, and his accompanying delegation. The meeting served as an opportunity to strengthen relations and explore joint cooperation avenues that would contribute to supporting the health sector and developing medical services.Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the meeting focused on several files of mutual interest. The discussions primarily targeted supporting continuous education programs for medical staff at various levels and investing in workforce capacity building, directly contributing to supporting medical tour ism. Existing and future cooperation opportunities in the pharmaceutical field were also discussed, including addressing medicine shortages that the company can help supply. The company expressed its readiness to cooperate in supporting the ministry's efforts to enhance the efficiency of Egypt's health system and improve patient care quality.The meeting included a review of the cooperation protocol between Johnson and Johnson and the General Authority for Health Insurance, focusing on continuous education, enhancing patient services, and supporting scientific research. Future cooperation opportunities between the company and the ministry's medical professions development sector were also explored, contributing to human capacity development and improved health service quality.Abdel Ghaffar noted that the minister directed the company to be informed about the national health strategy to ensure coordinated efforts and optimal service delivery for citizens. Preliminary plans for the upcoming global conferen ce on health, population, and development, scheduled for next November, were also discussed.Mr. Ahmed El-Houfi affirmed the importance of joint cooperation to ensure better health for Egyptian citizens, aligning with the "Egypt 2030" vision. He praised Egypt's health experience and expressed pride in representing the company in the Egyptian market.
