Health Minister and French Ambassador Discuss Medical Support for Palestinian Children with Cancer

Cairo: Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to providing all forms of medical and humanitarian support to Palestinians, stressing the country's continued role in receiving the injured and offering comprehensive healthcare.

According to State Information Service Egypt, this commitment was highlighted during a meeting with French Ambassador to Cairo Eric Chevallier and his accompanying delegation. The meeting was attended by Nima Saeed Abid, representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Egypt, Amal Imam, executive director of the Egyptian Red Crescent, and representatives of Elevate Holding Services.

The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in treating Palestinian children with cancer. Minister Abdel Ghaffar noted that the ministry is working to strengthen international partnerships with specialized medical institutions to ensure access to the latest global treatment protocols.

French Ambassador Chevallier praised Egypt's efforts in supporting and treating Palestinian patients, expressing France's readiness to expand cooperation and support humanitarian initiatives aimed at caring for Palestinian children.

The discussions also included final arrangements for signing a cooperation protocol between Gustave Roussy International Egypt and the French Embassy. This protocol aims to allocate a number of beds for treating Palestinian children with cancer, with support from the Egyptian Red Crescent. The agreement is anticipated to be signed in the coming weeks, ahead of receiving patients.
