Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held talks with Minister of Transport Kamel el Wazir on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, to discuss efforts for securing concessional development financing from international partners for priority transport projects. Abdelatty praised cooperation between the Foreign and Transport ministries in mobilizing financing for projects aimed at developing infrastructure, improving the transport network and supporting Egypt's economic development.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the two ministers reviewed transport projects currently being implemented with support from partner countries and international financial institutions. They discussed progress, completion rates and measures to address challenges that could delay implementation.

During the meeting, they also discussed the transport sector's future financing needs and priority projects that Egypt plans to present to international development partners in the coming period.

Abdelatty and Wazir also discussed the planned Unified National System for International Cooperation, a national platform designed to monitor development projects, track implementation rates and improve coordination between government bodies and international partners.
