Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty commended the pivotal role played by the State Information Service (SIS) in conveying a professional and balanced media message that reflects the orientation and objectives of the Egyptian State at the domestic and international levels.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty's remarks came during his meeting on Sunday, April 5, 2026, with Ambassador Alaa Youssef, the newly-appointed Head of the SIS, as part of ongoing coordination between the Foreign Ministry and the authority to support Egypt's media message.
At the outset of the meeting, Abdelatty congratulated Youssef on assuming his new post, wishing him success in carrying out his duties at a critical juncture for the region. The foreign minister stressed the growing importance of the SIS as the State's media arm amid current exceptional circumstances, highlighting the need to maintain consistency between diplomatic efforts and external media message.
Abdelatty also underlined the significance of showing achievements that Egypt made in various areas in recent years under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, as well as demonstrating the country's role as a key pillar for regional security and stability. The foreign minister highlighted the growing part of media as a vital tool in shaping the national narrative, clarifying facts, countering allegations, and confronting misinformation campaigns targeting Egypt's national security constants.
