FM Badr Abdelatty Highlights Developmental Role of Egyptian Diplomacy

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty emphasized the pivotal role of Egyptian diplomacy in fostering national development and economic growth. He outlined the Foreign Ministry's commitment to enhancing international cooperation, attracting investments, and exploring new avenues for collaboration globally.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty, during an appearance on Sada El-Balad TV Channel, highlighted the existential challenges facing Egypt, necessitating coordinated efforts among state institutions and intensified diplomatic activities. He underscored the ministry's focus on issues pertinent to Egypt's national security and strategic interests.

The Minister remarked on the significance of the 200th anniversary of Egypt's foreign ministry, a milestone that underscores the enduring legacy and influence of Egyptian diplomacy in safeguarding national interests and strengthening international ties. He also discussed the need for innovative tools and strategies within the ministry to adapt to global shifts and the evolving landscape of modern diplomacy.

Abdelatty pointed out the growing importance of the economic aspect within the foreign ministry, which has established a dedicated sector for economic affairs to bolster Egypt's economic objectives and enhance collaboration with international allies. He further acknowledged the critical nature of migration, stressing a holistic approach that aligns with Egypt's interests while promoting development and global cooperation.

The foreign ministry is actively restructuring its frameworks and operations to address the swiftly evolving challenges within Egypt and the broader region. Abdelatty noted the creation of a specialized sector focused on combating transnational crime and improving coordination with regional and international bodies.

In addition, Abdelatty highlighted ongoing efforts to empower youth and women within the ministry, offering increased opportunities for young and female diplomats to engage in diplomatic initiatives and assume leadership roles.
