FM and Health Minister Sign Protocol to Expand Healthcare Services for Egyptians Abroad

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar signed a cooperation protocol under the 'Your Treatment in Egypt' initiative dedicated to Egyptians living abroad. The signing took place at the Ministry of Health headquarters on Thursday, aligning with the political leadership's directives to prioritize Egyptians abroad and provide all forms of care to strengthen their connection to the homeland.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the two ministers emphasized that the initiative represents a qualitative leap in providing high-quality medical and therapeutic services in Egypt for Egyptians abroad. The program offers an integrated system that includes identifying accredited hospitals and medical centers, available specialties, booking appointments electronically, and offering remote medical consultations prior to travel. This approach aims to simplify procedures and save citizens' time and effort.

The protocol also enhances institutional cooperation between the two ministries to ensure that Egyptians abroad receive organized and safe healthcare while promoting Egypt's advanced medical capabilities following major investments and improvements in the health system in recent years. Furthermore, it encourages Egyptians abroad to seek treatment in their home country to benefit from the quality of services and cost efficiency.
