Cairo: The National Research Center (NRC) is set to inaugurate a new liver cancer research unit at its Medical Research Center of Excellence next Tuesday. This significant development will coincide with a scientific and cultural forum titled 'Liver Cancer in Egypt: Current Status and Research Challenges.'
According to State Information Service Egypt, the forum aims to review the latest epidemiological and clinical developments related to liver cancer in Egypt. It seeks to identify scientific gaps and research challenges while strengthening academic and national cooperation between the NRC and other research institutions, universities, and the private sector.
The event will gather leading scientists and researchers specializing in liver diseases and oncology from 12 Egyptian universities and research centers. Representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO) will also be present to discuss the current state of liver cancer in Egypt and explore prospects for advancing related scientific research.
The newly established liver cancer research unit will focus on supporting scientific research and fostering interdisciplinary cooperation to combat the disease effectively.
