Egyptian Red Crescent Extends Care for Sudanese Kidney-Transplant Patients

Cairo: The Egyptian Red Crescent announced that it is continuing to provide healthcare for Sudanese kidney-transplant patients who fled to Egypt. This initiative is part of a joint program with the Qatar Red Crescent aimed at alleviating the hardships caused by the ongoing conflict in Sudan.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the project caters to 147 patients who had undergone transplants in Sudan prior to the outbreak of war. The initiative ensures these individuals receive ongoing medical follow-up, which includes regular tests and check-ups. A specialized medical team is overseeing their condition over a three-month period to ensure their health needs are met.

The organization emphasized that this effort is a reflection of its humanitarian responsibility to support vulnerable groups and strengthen regional emergency response capabilities.
