Cairo: Engineering exports have increased by 17 percent in the period between January and May 2025, recording 2.6 billion dollars, compared with 2.3 billion dollars during the same period in 2024, according to a report issued by the Engineering Export Council of Egypt (EECE) on Monday June 23, 2025.According to State Information Service Egypt, the report put the total value of engineering exports during May 2025 alone at 574 million dollars, up from 513 million dollars during the same month last year, marking a 12 percent increase.EECE Board Chairman Sherif el Sayyad said this growth reflects the success of efforts to enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian engineering products, especially in light of ongoing global fluctuations. He added the council seeks to open up new markets, as it eyes seven billion dollars worth of engineering exports by the end of this year 2025.Among the countries whose engineering imports from Egypt increased are the UK, Slovakia, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Hungary , and Ireland. Egyptian engineering exports to the UAE, Iraq, Azerbaijan, China, Jordan, Lebanon, Algeria, Tunisia, Kenya, Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire, and Tanzania also rose in the first five months of 2025.
