Cairo: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced that remittances from Egyptians living abroad reached a historic high, surging by 77.1% over a ten-month period. The total amount hit 29.4 billion dollars between July 2024 and April 2025, compared to 16.6 billion dollars during the same period the previous year.
According to State Information Service Egypt, a statement released on June 23, 2025, detailed that remittance inflows in April 2025 rose by 39% to reach three billion dollars, compared to 2.2 billion dollars in February 2024.
The report further noted that remittances from January 2024 to April 2025 increased by 72.3%, recording approximately 12.4 billion dollars, up from around 7.2 billion dollars.
