New York:Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan emphasized the importance of implementing US President Donald Trump's peace plan for Gaza. They highlighted the need for the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and the initiation of reconstruction and early recovery efforts.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the ministers made these remarks during a meeting held on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. The session took place in New York, focusing on a range of regional issues.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Nader Zaki reported that Abdelatty expressed a positive outlook on Egyptian-Turkish relations, emphasizing the desire to enhance bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, and industry. The discussions also included developments in the Gaza Strip, where Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's opposition to any plans for the forced displacement of Palestinians and criticized the expansion of Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

The ministers also addressed the situation in Sudan, with Abdelatty stressing the need to maintain Sudan's unity and sovereignty. He emphasized the importance of advancing peace negotiations to meet the Sudanese people's aspirations and protect national institutions.

In discussing Libya, Abdelatty highlighted Egypt's focus on preserving Libya's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He called for regional and international support to help Libyan parties achieve a sustainable political settlement that upholds the unity of the state and its institutions.

The dialogue further included discussions on the Iranian crisis. Both ministers highlighted the importance of supporting mediation efforts between the United States and Iran to foster a return to negotiations and enhance regional security and stability. They also stressed the necessity of protecting Gulf state security and opposed the use of straits or maritime routes as leverage in the crisis.
