New York:Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met with Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi to discuss various pressing issues, including bilateral relations, the Iran crisis, and developments in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting occurred on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. The two ministers focused on enhancing trade and economic cooperation and maintaining continuous communication and consultations on regional and international issues of mutual concern.

The discussions emphasized regional developments, particularly the situation in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb. Abdelatty highlighted the importance of de-escalation to avoid further tensions that could threaten regional security and stability. He also stressed the significance of ensuring freedom of navigation according to international law.

Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's strong stance against any threats to Saudi Arabia's security and expressed solidarity with the Kingdom. He emphasized the necessity of diplomatic efforts as a means to address challenges.

In addition, the ministers exchanged views on the Iranian crisis and developments in the Strait of Hormuz. They called for safeguarding maritime navigation, ensuring the free flow of trade and energy supplies, and promoting regional stability.
