According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions were guided by the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, aiming to serve the mutual interests of both countries. The conversation also covered regional and international developments, where both ministers emphasized the necessity of prioritizing diplomatic solutions, dialogue, and reducing tensions to prevent any military escalation that could jeopardize regional security and stability, or threaten the security and freedom of navigation.
