Egyptian and Bahraini Foreign Ministers Address Military Escalation in Region

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Expatriates Dr. Badr Abdelatty, during a telephone call, discussed with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, the rapidly evolving situation and the dimensions of the dangerous military escalation in the region.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, stated that the call addressed the repercussions of the recent attacks targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain and several other Gulf and Arab states. Minister Abdelatty expressed Egypt's full solidarity with the Kingdom of Bahrain and its brothers in the Arabian Gulf in confronting the repercussions of these attacks, emphasizing that Gulf and Arab national security is an integral and fundamental pillar of Egyptian national security.

The conversation also focused on the condemnation of these attacks and the rejection of any pretexts for violating the sovereignty of brotherly countries or compromising their security and resources. The Foreign Minister warned of the dire consequences of the ongoing military escalation, emphasizing the necessity for an immediate cessation of all military operations to prevent the security situation from spiraling out of control and to avoid repercussions that would be difficult to contain.
