Cairo: The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in Egypt has launched a new initiative titled 'Digital Citizenship and Online Protection'. This initiative is designed to enhance digital awareness among Egyptian citizens and promote safer internet usage.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the initiative aims to expand public understanding of digital citizenship, focusing on its core principles and practical applications. It highlights successful international and local experiences in the field, while also raising societal awareness of cyber risks and online threats.
Furthermore, the program seeks to build partnerships with national and international stakeholders to exchange expertise and adopt best practices in promoting responsible digital behavior. As part of this effort, the ministry introduced a new online platform, Wa3i.net. This platform is designed as a community knowledge hub, offering specialized Arabic-language content tailored to various target groups.
Wa3i.net provides resources for children, teenagers, teachers, and parents to help them better understand responsible technology use and safe online practices. Through this platform, the ministry aims to educate these groups on the importance of digital citizenship and online protection in today's digital world.
