FM Discusses Regional Developments with Qatari Leadership

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Expatriates Dr. Badr Abdelatty, during a telephone call on Friday, discussed with Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the rapidly evolving regional developments. The two sides tackled the dangerous military escalation in the region.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, said that the call addressed the repercussions of the recent attacks targeting the State of Qatar and the Gulf states, as well as the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Iraq, and other brotherly and friendly nations.

Minister Abdelatty expressed Egypt's full solidarity with the State of Qatar, its brothers in the Gulf region, and the rest of the Arab and friendly countries, condemning these attacks and rejecting any pretexts or justifications for them.

Ambassador Tamim Khallaf added that the Foreign Minister stressed the importance of immediately stopping these attacks and preventing the region from sliding into total chaos, a position that was appreciated by the Qatari side, as the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister praised Egypt's supportive and solidarity-based stance with its brothers in this delicate situation.
