Cairo:EgyptAir and Romania's national airline TAROM held discussions in Cairo to explore enhanced cooperation in aircraft maintenance, technical support, and spare parts. The discussions were part of efforts to strengthen the partnership between the two airlines.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting was attended by EgyptAir Holding Chairman Captain Ahmed Adel, Romanian Ambassador to Egypt Olivia Toderean, and a TAROM delegation that included the CEO of TAROM Tehnic, Florian Traila, and Maintenance Director Romeo Ivan.
The talks also focused on opportunities for TAROM to utilize EgyptAir's maintenance and technical services at Egyptian tourist destinations such as Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada. Other notable attendees included EgyptAir Holding Assistant Chairman Captain Sherif Khalil, EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering Chairman Mohamed Sami, and Rabab Hamdy, head of Alliances and International Relations.
Both parties discussed various aspects of aircraft support and technical services, emphasizing the use of their technical expertise to bolster airline operations. Captain Adel highlighted the importance of the meeting as a step toward expanding cooperation, particularly in maintenance, technical services, and operational support. He noted that EgyptAir is committed to development and modernization while enhancing international partnerships.
Ambassador Toderean underlined the significance of aviation cooperation in Egyptian-Romanian relations and expressed interest in further strengthening technical and operational collaboration between the two airlines. EgyptAir operates a maintenance and engineering business that offers technical services to airlines both in Egypt and internationally, while TAROM serves as Romania's national carrier.
