Egypt, UAE Foreign Ministers Discuss Bilateral Ties and Regional Developments

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan engaged in a phone conversation to discuss regional developments and strengthen bilateral relations as part of the ongoing coordination between Egypt and the UAE.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the ministers emphasized the sustained momentum in Egypt-UAE relations, guided by the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. They reiterated their commitment to expanding cooperation in areas that serve the interests of both nations.

The conversation included a review of regional developments, with a particular focus on the US-Iran memorandum of understanding. Abdelatty highlighted the importance of continuing diplomatic efforts to ease tensions, enhance regional stability, and address the security concerns of Gulf states.

Additionally, the two ministers stressed the necessity of safeguarding freedom of navigation in regional waterways in accordance with international law. They agreed to maintain close Egyptian-UAE and Egyptian-Gulf coordination on regional issues.
