Egypt and Oman Foreign Ministers Reaffirm Strong Bilateral Relations and Diplomatic Approach to Regional Issues

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and his Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr Bin Hamad Al Busaidi have reaffirmed the strong ties between Egypt and Oman, committing to deepen cooperation. This commitment was expressed during a phone call on Friday, June 26, 2026, where both ministers welcomed the positive momentum in bilateral relations, following President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to Oman.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the two officials reviewed the developments in U.S.-Iran talks, particularly after the recent meeting between the states of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the United States. Abdelatty emphasized the importance of maintaining the negotiating track, ensuring freedom of navigation without any fees, and upholding international law as key components of regional diplomacy.

The ministers also called for resolving disputes through peaceful means, highlighting the necessity of dialogue in addressing regional crises. On the matter of Palestine, they affirmed that the Palestinian cause remains central to achieving lasting regional stability. They urged for intensified efforts to de-escalate tensions and to create conditions conducive to a serious political process, aiming for a just and comprehensive settlement.
