Cairo: Egypt topped the medals table at the World University Modern Pentathlon Championships in Madrid after winning six medals, including three golds, two silvers, and one bronze, during the competition held from August 16 to 19. Minister of Youth and Sports Gohar Nabil congratulated the Egyptian team, the Egyptian University Sports Federation, and the Egyptian Modern Pentathlon Federation on the achievement.According to State Information Service Egypt, Egypt finished ahead of Switzerland, which ranked second with two medals - one gold and one silver. Omar Amer won the men's individual gold with 1,015 points, while his compatriot Ali Abul Fotouh took silver with 1,007 points. Jana Attia secured bronze in the women's individual event with 898 points.Egypt added two more medals in the team competition, with Zeina Amer and Ali Abul Fotouh winning gold with 1,004 points, while Jana Attia and Omar Amer claimed silver with 996 points. Attia and Amer completed Egypt's six-medal haul by winning the mixed relay g old with 778 points.The Sports Minister congratulated the athletes on their performance and said the results demonstrated Egypt's strong position in modern pentathlon at international competitions.
