Cairo: Minister of State for Military Production Salah Soliman Gomblat on Thursday, August 20, 2026, stressed the ministry's keenness to strengthen cooperation with the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) along with utilizing the manufacturing and technological capabilities and expertise of military production companies in implementing development projects.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Gomblat made the remarks during a meeting with SCZONE Chairman Mostafa Sheikhoun at the ministry's headquarters in the New Capital to discuss a number of areas of mutual interest, in the presence of senior officials from both sides. The meeting falls within the framework of directives from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to pay attention to integration among state institutions to support comprehensive and sustainable development efforts.

During the meeting, a film was played featuring the manufacturing and technological capabilities of military production companies and units, followed by a presentation on the key activities of the Military Production Projects, Engineering Consultations, and General Supplies Company. The two sides discussed proposed areas of cooperation, most notably water treatment and desalination plant projects.

They also examined the possibility of drawing on the expertise of Qaha Chemical Industries Company and the Military Production Company for Maintenance, Supplies and Integrated Solutions to implement and support water plant projects. These projects include industrial and municipal wastewater treatment plants, seawater desalination facilities, groundwater treatment plants, and mobile water treatment units, to provide integrated solutions tailored to the needs of various projects.

For his part, Sheikhoun praised the meeting, saying it provided an opportunity to gain a closer understanding of the diverse manufacturing capabilities and latest technologies used in production processes.
