Cairo:Egyptian exports to South Korea increased by 11.2% in the first half of 2026, reaching $44.6 million compared to $40.1 million during the same period in 2025.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Egyptian imports from South Korea decreased by 9.9%, totaling $595.7 million in the first half of 2026, down from $661.1 million in the corresponding period of 2025. This decline in imports contributed to an 8.7% decrease in the overall trade exchange between the two countries, which amounted to $640.3 million compared to $701.2 million in the previous year.
The report highlighted a substantial surge in South Korean investments in Egypt, which soared to $736.3 million during the first half of the fiscal year 2025/2026, up from $77.2 million in the same period of the previous fiscal year, marking an 853.8% increase.
Additionally, remittances from South Koreans working in Egypt experienced a slight decrease, amounting to $4.82 million compared to $4.84 million the previous year, a 0.6% reduction.
