Egypt Promotes Agricultural Exports at Fruit Attraction 2026 in Madrid

Madrid:Egypt is showcasing its agricultural export potential at Fruit Attraction 2026, which opened on October 6 in Madrid and will run until October 8. Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk attended the opening alongside Spanish Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Luis Planas.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the event saw the participation of Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk, Egypt's Ambassador to Spain Ehab Badawy, and various Egyptian businessmen and exporters. Notably, the exhibition has seen an increase in Egyptian company participation, with around 90 companies displaying their agricultural products.

Minister Farouk toured the exhibition, meeting with exhibitors, investors, and businesspeople to discuss expanding exports and opening new markets. He emphasized the exhibition's role in facilitating direct customer contact and negotiation of export contracts for the upcoming season.

On the sidelines, Farouk engaged in bilateral meetings to discuss cooperation and trade facilitation between Egypt and Spain. He highlighted the strategic importance of the event for exchanging expertise and learning about market developments and new technologies.

The minister also underscored Egypt's commitment to supporting the private sector in sustainable agricultural development and improving the investment climate. Efforts are focused on agro-processing, modern agriculture, and packaging to enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian products.

Farouk reaffirmed the priority of maintaining the reputation of Egyptian agricultural products by adhering to quality standards and phytosanitary procedures. He emphasized ongoing efforts to overcome export obstacles and access new markets globally.
