Egypt Secures $631 Million in Oil and Gas Deals to Boost Output

Cairo: Egypt's Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has successfully signed 12 agreements between July 2024 and May 2025, aimed at drilling 43 new wells and securing investments amounting to $631 million. These agreements mark a significant step forward in the nation's efforts to enhance its oil and natural gas output.According to State Information Service Egypt, these deals were made with major international energy firms, demonstrating the growing confidence in Egypt's investment climate. The Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) emphasized that these initiatives are crucial for meeting the rising domestic demand and supporting national development objectives.In a recent video released by IDSC on social media, the government's commitment to countering the natural decline in reservoir output was highlighted. This decline is a global challenge for non-renewable resources. The Ministry continues to focus on implementing water injection projects to maintain pressure in reservoirs, t hereby increasing recovery rates and supporting sustainable energy production in the country.
