New delhi: Supreme Constitutional Court President Boulos Fahmy Eskandar is leading an Egyptian judicial delegation to the BRICS conference in New Delhi, which sees participation from chief justices and leaders of judicial bodies from member and partner countries.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the conference, organized by the Supreme Court of India from September 4 to 6, is part of India's 2026 BRICS presidency agenda. During this visit, a cooperation protocol between Egypt's Supreme Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court of India is set to be signed, with the goal of strengthening judicial ties and expanding the exchange of legal expertise and experience. This protocol aims to enhance institutional and legal communication between the two courts.

The conference offers a platform for senior judicial officials to discuss prevailing challenges encountered by judicial systems and to share views and practices on areas of mutual interest. Egypt's involvement in the event is also directed towards increasing cooperation between its Supreme Constitutional Court and judicial bodies in BRICS member and partner countries.

The New Delhi conference is anticipated to enhance communication among participating judicial institutions and to create additional opportunities for collaboration between supreme courts. The forthcoming protocol with the Supreme Court of India is expected to set a foundation for ongoing cooperation and exchanges between the Egyptian and Indian courts.
