Moscow: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates is closely monitoring the aftermath of the September 13 shelling of the vessel "M/V Noran" near a port southwest of Russia. This comes as part of the ministry's ongoing efforts to follow up on the conditions of Egyptians abroad and provide them with necessary care and consular support.

According to State Information Service Egypt, following instructions from Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, the Egyptian Embassy in Moscow has been actively providing consular support to the Egyptian crew members aboard the vessel. The Embassy's efforts have successfully facilitated the return of eight Egyptian sailors to their homeland.

Additionally, Abdelatty has instructed the ministry's consular sector to remain in contact with the family of the Egyptian captain, whose death on board was confirmed. The Ministry is also working on coordinating efforts to retrieve and repatriate the captain's remains, once security conditions permit, in the area where the vessel is located, which is currently experiencing military operations.
