Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES) Highlights Regional Hub Role and Global Dialogue at BRICS Summit

Cairo: Amid rapid global political, economic, security, and geopolitical transformations, the Egypt International Energy Show (EGYPES) remained a focus of Egypt's political leadership, as President Abdel Fattah El Sisi highlighted the event during the BRICS Summit open session in India as a vital platform for partnerships, investments, and expertise exchange in energy and technology, reflecting its expanding reach into global dialogue.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the ninth edition, held from March 30 to April 1, 2026, in Cairo with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides attending alongside global energy executives, cemented Egypt's position as a regional hub for energy dialogue as energy security, investment, technology, and sustainability dominate international agendas.

Heavy international participation allowed Egypt to showcase its energy potential and investment openings, opening direct channels between the government, investors, and global firms while emphasizing its strategic geographic position linking African, Middle Eastern, and European energy trade.

Across previous editions, the event evolved significantly, rebranding as the Egypt International Energy Show in 2026 to encompass broader energy, technology, and innovation issues beyond traditional oil and gas.

This evolution highlights that the future of energy extends beyond boosting output to maximizing resource efficiency, developing technology, curbing emissions, diversifying sources, and securing financing for transition initiatives.

The show provides a venue bringing policymakers, investors, technology providers, and experts together to convert dialogue into actionable ventures covering exploration, production, infrastructure, and emerging tech sectors.

EGYPES 2026 targeted enhancing cooperation and investment partnerships while facilitating knowledge transfer, extending its mission beyond deal-signing to exchanging expertise across energy institutions.

The exhibition enables firms to present cutting-edge technologies to specialists and decision-makers, localizing global expertise and exposing domestic companies to international advances in digitalization, artificial intelligence, operational efficiency, clean energy, and emissions reduction.

With energy security dominating global economic agendas amid geopolitical volatility, the event provides a platform to address resource development, secure supply lines, and scale up infrastructure and production investments.

Egypt uses this platform to affirm its pivotal regional energy role, capitalizing on its geographic position, infrastructure networks, ports, and advanced facilities across the energy and gas landscape.

The ninth edition demonstrated that the show has matured into a comprehensive platform addressing the present and future of global energy.

The 2026 edition stood out by integrating investment, energy, technology, innovation, and international cooperation to advance Egypt's vision of becoming a regional energy hub attracting foreign capital and partnerships.

Highlighted by President Sisi at the BRICS Summit, EGYPES 2026 solidifies its standing as an international platform shaping global energy discourse to address security, sustainability, and innovation challenges.
