Egypt Condemns Iranian Attacks on Neighboring Arab Countries

Cairo: Egypt strongly condemned Iranian attacks targeting sites in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, describing them as a violation of the three Arab countries' sovereignty and territorial integrity.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the attacks constituted a 'dangerous escalation' that could deepen regional tensions and threaten security and stability across the Middle East. Egypt affirmed its full solidarity with Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan and expressed complete support for all measures taken by the three countries to protect their security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

Cairo also reiterated its 'categorical rejection' of any actions that could widen the conflict or destabilize the region. The ministry called for adherence to international law and respect for states' sovereignty to preserve regional peace and security.

The latest attacks came amid a renewed exchange of fire between Iran and the United States, with Tehran saying it was targeting American military facilities in countries across the Gulf and in Jordan in retaliation for US strikes on Iranian territory. Jordan's armed forces stated that their air defenses intercepted three Iranian ballistic missiles that entered the country's airspace early on Wednesday, after shooting down four missiles the previous day.

Kuwait reported fires at sites hit in the latest attacks, while Bahrain and Kuwait have faced repeated waves of Iranian missiles and drones since hostilities resumed. The escalation followed Washington's renewal of its naval blockade on Iranian ports and further US airstrikes against Iranian military positions near the Strait of Hormuz.

The United States said the operations were launched after a series of attacks on commercial vessels in the strategic waterway, while Tehran accused Washington of violating its sovereignty and the terms of an interim truce.
