Egypt and Tatarstan Explore Medical and AI Collaboration

Cairo: Chairman of the Egyptian Healthcare Authority and General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance Project Ahmed El Sobky discussed with Tatarstan Health Minister Almir Abashev promising opportunities for joint cooperation in the development of cancer diagnosis and treatment systems, as well as the use of predictive artificial intelligence applications in the healthcare sector. This comes amid efforts to strengthen Egyptian-Russian relations and explore new avenues for collaboration in various sectors.

According to State Information Service Egypt, this dialogue took place during El Sobky's participation in a meeting conducted by President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov with a high-level Egyptian delegation at the 'Russia - Islamic World: Kazan Forum' international economic forum. The forum aims to support and enhance relations between Egypt and Russia, particularly focusing on economic, cultural, industrial, research, and healthcare cooperation.

During the meeting, El Sobky emphasized the Egyptian Healthcare Authority's interest in exchanging expertise with the Republic of Tatarstan, particularly in clinical scientific research in collaboration with Kazan University. Additionally, he expressed interest in leveraging Tatarstan's experience in smart hospital construction systems, showcasing a commitment to adopting successful international models in technology and digital transformation.

El Sobky noted that Tatarstan serves as an exemplary model in smart governance, digital transformation, and regional economic development, positioning it as a valuable partner in Egypt's efforts toward development and modernization. This collaboration is anticipated to enhance the exchange of expertise and contribute to Egypt's institutional innovation and healthcare advancements.
