Egypt and Pakistan Emphasize Diplomatic Solutions to Prevent Regional Conflict

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, and Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar stressed the importance of continued joint efforts to prioritize diplomatic solutions to prevent conflict expansion, amid serious security, economic, and geopolitical repercussions on the region and the world.

According to State Information Service Egypt, during a phone call between the two top diplomats, part of ongoing consultations and coordination between Egypt and Pakistan on regional developments, the ministers discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and support the US-Iran negotiating track. The conversation underscored the importance of sustained political and diplomatic efforts to contain the current escalation in the region.

The two ministers expressed their commitment to advancing bilateral ties across various fields, serving mutual interests. They emphasized the significance of the negotiating process between the US and Iran to reach consensual understandings, helping to reduce tensions, end the war, and support regional stability.

Additionally, discussions included preparations for the fourth meeting of the quadrilateral mechanism comprising Egypt, Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, which aims to continue joint consultations and strengthen efforts to de-escalate tensions. The foreign ministers reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination among the four countries in light of serious regional developments.
