Alamein:Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, met with Ahmat Kogri, the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chad, during the Alamein-Africa Forum.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting focused on enhancing bilateral relations and reviewing cooperation pathways between Egypt and Chad. The ministers exchanged views on several regional issues of mutual interest.
Ambassador Nader Zaki, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reported that Minister Abdelatty congratulated Minister Kogri on his new appointment. Abdelatty expressed a commitment to ongoing coordination and consultation to achieve shared interests, underscoring the strong historical ties between the two nations.
Minister Abdelatty also highlighted the importance of following the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and President Mahamat Idriss D©by Itno to strengthen bilateral relations. They discussed the implementation of the outcomes from the fourth session of the Egypt-Chad Joint Commission, which included agreements, memorandums of understanding, and cooperation projects.
The ministers shared perspectives on promoting peace, security, and development across Africa and agreed to enhance coordination at both bilateral and multilateral levels to support stability and development on the continent.
In a subsequent event, attended by Dr. Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, Minister of Health, the two ministers witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding. This agreement, between the Egyptian Drug Authority and the Chadian Ministry of Health, involves cooperation in the field of medical and biological products and medical supplies.
