Cairo: Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy engaged in discussions with Bosnia and Herzegovina's Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Stasa Kosarac to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral tourism cooperation. The meeting took place at the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) and focused on enhancing collaboration between the two nations in the tourism sector.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Fathy emphasized the robust ties between Egypt and Bosnia and Herzegovina, highlighting their mutual commitment to expanding cooperation in tourism and antiquities. During the meeting, Fathy shared insights from his recent visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, which included discussions aimed at advancing tourism collaboration between the two countries.

The talks centered on increasing the flow of tourists between Egypt and Bosnia and Herzegovina, promoting their respective tourism offerings, and improving air connectivity to facilitate travel. The ministers also considered cooperation in tourism training and capacity building. Additionally, they discussed activating a memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation that was signed during Fathy's visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Further discussions included potential participation in Expo 2027 in Belgrade, which was seen as an opportunity to promote the tourism destinations of both countries. The event could facilitate business-to-business meetings between tourism stakeholders, opening new avenues for cooperation.

After the meeting, Kosarac and his delegation, accompanied by Fathy, toured the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Giza Pyramids, marking a cultural exchange and strengthening the ties between the two nations in the tourism sector.
