Cairo: Jordan's Director General of the Tourism Promotion Board Ramzi Al-Maaytah announced the launch of a new digital platform, "Ahlan bil Jordan" (Welcome to Jordan), aimed at attracting tourists from Egypt and other key Arab markets. This initiative, a collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Tourism Promotion Board, and various tourism associations, seeks to enhance inbound tourism and improve access to tourism services and travel packages for Arab visitors.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Al-Maaytah emphasized that the platform is a strategic effort to solidify Jordan's status as a favored destination within Arab markets. In addition to Egypt, the platform targets Palestine, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, with the goal of boosting Arab tourist arrivals in the ongoing tourism season.
The platform offers a variety of tourism packages that cater to Arab visitors' interests, featuring trips to archaeological, natural, and tourist sites throughout Jordan's regions. These integrated offers simplify booking processes and aim to provide a comprehensive travel experience.
Al-Maaytah highlighted that the platform includes tourism programs ranging from three to eight days, with prices starting at $180 per person. These packages cover hotel accommodations, transportation, tour guide services, and admission to numerous archaeological sites, offering diverse options for different Arab visitor categories.
He also noted that Jordan is experiencing a vibrant summer season, featuring a wide array of artistic, cultural, and tourism events that increase its attractiveness to Arab tourists. The seasonal calendar boasts significant events such as the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts, Amman Summer, and Aqaba Waves, along with concerts by renowned Arab artists in locations like Amman, Jerash, Aqaba, and Petra.
Al-Maaytah concluded that these events, coupled with Jordan's rich historical, natural, and tourism resources, are pivotal in attracting more Arab tourists, particularly from Egypt, thereby supporting the growth of Jordan's tourism sector during the current season.
