Cairo: Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid Saleh stated on Thursday, May 7, 2026, that Egypt aims to deepen its economic partnership with Belarus through technology localization and joint production to transform Egypt into a regional hub for Belarusian industries.
According to State Information Service Egypt, during the eighth Joint Egyptian-Belarusian Trade Committee session, Saleh and Belarusian Minister of Anti-Monopoly Regulation and Trade Artur Karpovich signed a strategic protocol to enhance bilateral trade and joint investments.
The agreement outlines plans to localize the manufacturing of tractors and heavy equipment in Egypt and cooperate on food security projects involving grain production and supply chain development. Both countries agreed to explore pharmaceutical manufacturing partnerships, digital transformation in customs, and scientific research in energy and agriculture.
The committee also emphasized boosting tourism through potential direct flights and activating a joint business council to support private sector cooperation.
