Antalya: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held talks with Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations and exchanging views on the latest regional developments.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty expressed Egypt’s eagerness to advance cooperation with Austria and enhance coordination on issues of mutual interest. This aligns with the political consultation mechanism signed in Cairo in June 2025. He emphasized Egypt’s commitment to boosting cooperation in economic, trade, and investment sectors.
Both ministers discussed the importance of reactivating the joint committee between their countries and encouraging Austrian investments in Egypt, particularly in the Suez Canal Economic Zone. Abdelatty highlighted the potential for cooperation in labor training, academic and cultural exchange programs, and collaboration in renewable energy, information technology, and telecommunications.
Furthermore, Abdelatty pointed to opportunities for trilateral cooperation in Africa, utilizing Egypt’s development and economic expertise across the continent. He also briefed Meinl-Reisinger on Egypt’s role in supporting regional security and stability, and the ongoing efforts to contain tensions and support the US-Iran negotiation track.
