Egypt Aims to Boost Agricultural Trade and Investment with UAE

Abu Dhabi:Egypt is seeking to expand agricultural trade and joint investment with the UAE as part of efforts to strengthen regional food security and supply chains. Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Mostafa El-Sayyad highlighted these goals during Egypt's participation in the Global Food Security Summit, held in Abu Dhabi from October 6 to 8.

According to State Information Service Egypt, El-Sayyad emphasized the importance of increasing trade between Egypt and the UAE, particularly in the agriculture sector. He also advocated for greater joint investment in agricultural projects and innovative food systems to address regional food security challenges.

El-Sayyad discussed the necessity of developing resilient agricultural and food systems and strengthening supply chains. He underscored the importance of continued cooperation with international organizations such as the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and the World Food Programme (WFP).

The summit in Abu Dhabi is focusing on topics including regional food security, the use of artificial intelligence in food and agricultural systems, and the development of smart supply chains.
