Egypt’s Foreign Reserves Increase to $57.35 Billion in September

Cairo:Egypt's net international reserves rose to $57.3482 billion by the end of September 2026, as reported by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).

According to State Information Service Egypt, the reserves increased by $133.7 million from $57.2145 billion at the end of August, marking a monthly rise of approximately 0.23 percent. This follows a previous reserve level of $56.2939 billion at the end of July.

International reserves are crucial for meeting import requirements, servicing external debt, and supporting the stability of the foreign-exchange market. The recent increase in reserves is attributed to stronger foreign-currency inflows. Notably, remittances from Egyptians abroad reached a record $47.3 billion in the fiscal year 2025/2026, an increase of 29.6 percent compared to the previous year, as stated by the CBE.
