EgSA and NGU Partner to Enhance Space and Tech Research

Cairo: The Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA) and New Giza University (NGU) have signed a protocol of cooperation to foster academic and research partnerships between the two institutions.

According to State Information Service Egypt, EgSA CEO Sherif Sedky and NGU President Ahmed Sameh Farid signed the protocol at the agency's headquarters to boost cooperation in space and advanced technology fields, and to employ modern sciences in support of sustainable development plans.

The protocol is part of both sides' efforts to build bridges of scientific cooperation and knowledge exchange and cement cooperation to achieve integration in several vital areas, including education, training, capacity building, computer science, artificial intelligence, agriculture, communications, cybersecurity, natural resources, smart manufacturing, engineering, urban planning and smart cities, renewable energy, and other related fields that contribute to supporting scientific and technological progress in Egypt.

The protocol also encompasses the exchange of scientific information and academic resources, the implementation of joint research projects, and the organization of training courses, workshops, and scientific seminars between both sides. Furthermore, the agreement promotes cooperation in postgraduate programs to enhance human resources and equip them with future skills.

Following the signing ceremony, Sedky accompanied Farid on a tour of the Egyptian Space Agency headquarters, which included visits to specialized laboratories and technical facilities.

Farid was briefed on the agency's scientific and technological capabilities in satellite design, manufacturing, and testing.

During their tour, Sedky emphasized the importance of employing these capabilities to serve the mutual goals of both institutions to enhance Egypt's position in space and technology sectors.

At the end of the visit, both sides exchanged commemorative plaques in a symbolic gesture reflecting the spirit of cooperation and constructive partnership between the agency and the university. This collaboration aims to achieve tangible outcomes that support scientific research and technological development in Egypt.
