_:Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif met with Andreas Adrian, Director of the Technical Cooperation for Inclusive Technical Education (TCTI II) Project, along with his delegation from the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), to explore strategies for enhancing cooperation in technical and vocational education and training.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdel Latif commended the enduring partnership with GIZ, emphasizing the agency's significant role in advancing technical education through the TCTI II project. The minister noted the collaboration's focus on dual education and training, improving the quality of technical education, and developing the skills of teachers and staff. The initiative also aims to boost private-sector involvement and align technical education with labor market demands.
The discussions included plans to expand applied technology schools, leveraging German expertise to prepare graduates for competitive roles in both local and international markets. The meeting highlighted the development of Egyptian-German applied technology schools, the expansion of commercial technical education, and the introduction of future-oriented specializations. Efforts to update competency-based curricula, enhance teacher and trainer capabilities, and institutionalize career guidance and school-to-work transition services were also discussed.
Furthermore, both parties considered promoting green education and fostering environmental awareness among technical education students. This includes developing skills related to green jobs and the green economy. They expressed a shared commitment to expanding joint programs and projects to support the ministry's priorities and strengthen the integration between technical education, the private sector, and labor market needs.
