Cairo:According to State Information Service Egypt, e& Egypt has partnered with Intel to implement the 'AI for Citizens' initiative, developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. This program aims to provide accessible AI training and awareness programs to enhance digital skills among citizens, catering to people from various backgrounds with content in Arabic and English. The initiative focuses on AI fundamentals and applications without requiring a technical background.
Under this collaboration, e& Egypt will act as an implementation and hosting partner, ensuring internet connectivity and the necessary infrastructure to access Intel's training materials, thereby broadening the program's reach.
Amr Fathy, Chief Technology and Information Officer at e& Egypt, emphasized that this partnership represents a significant step in expanding access to AI-related knowledge and digital skills. He highlighted the importance of equipping individuals with the understanding of emerging technologies to meet future needs.
Taha Khalifa, Intel's General Manager for the Middle East and Africa, remarked on the necessity of expanding learning opportunities and building AI skills to empower individuals and communities. He underscored the importance of providing accessible content that makes AI concepts more approachable for citizens. The initiative aligns with e& Egypt's efforts to support digital transformation and foster a knowledge- and innovation-based economy, in accordance with Egypt's National AI Strategy 2025-2030. The 'AI for Citizens' program is set to be operational in Egypt by the end of this year, laying the groundwork for further initiatives centered on digital knowledge and skills related to emerging technologies.
