Cairo:The Egyptian Cabinet has approved the inclusion of Armed Forces personnel who were martyred or injured in previous wars and special operations into a state fund providing support to casualties and their families. This decision applies to officers, other military personnel, and civilian Armed Forces employees, who will now be covered by the Fund for Honoring the Martyrs, Victims, Missing and Injured of War, Terrorist and Security Operations, and Their Families.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the Cabinet's decision was made during its weekly meeting, which was chaired by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly. The meeting took place on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
Additionally, the Cabinet approved urgent protection work at Al-Metwally Mosque, also known as Al-Tarini Al-Kabir Mosque, located in Mahalla El-Kubra, Gharbia Governorate. This work will be managed by the Supreme Council of Antiquities.
In a separate decision, the Cabinet authorized the Health Ministry to proceed with maintenance contracts for Tanta General Hospital in Gharbia, Toukh Central Hospital in Qalyubia, and Bulaq El-Dakrour General Hospital in Giza.
