Cairo: Minister of Culture Ahmed Fouad Hanno reviewed the final preparations for the 57th Cairo International Book Fair during a meeting with senior officials overseeing the event, the ministry announced on Monday, January 5, 2026.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting addressed several critical components, including the final list of participating countries and publishers, the readiness of exhibition halls and infrastructure, and logistical services for exhibitors and visitors. These discussions aimed to ensure that the fair maintains its status as one of the Arab world's largest cultural events.
Officials also evaluated the accompanying cultural and intellectual programme, which features activities specifically tailored for children and youth. Full details regarding these initiatives are expected to be disclosed at a press conference, scheduled for January 12 at the Cairo Opera House.
Minister Hanno emphasized the necessity of full coordination among all relevant bodies to tackle any organizational challenges. He reiterated the importance of delivering an integrated cultural experience for visitors, thereby reinforcing the fair's role as a platform for cultural dialogue and intellectual exchange.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to complete all preparations on schedule and to increase media outreach efforts to promote the upcoming edition of the fair and its key themes.
