Cairo: Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hindi engaged in discussions with Yang Chaobin, CEO of ICT Business Group at Huawei, on May 10, 2026, focusing on enhancing cooperation in telecommunications, digital capacity-building, advanced technologies, and cloud computing. The meeting also included CEO of Huawei Egypt Benjamin Hou.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the minister emphasized the ongoing collaboration between the ministry and Huawei across several fields, underscoring the ICT sector’s critical role in supporting industries and highlighting the joint efforts in digital skills development. Yang expressed Huawei’s commitment to introducing the latest technologies to the Egyptian market and conveyed eagerness to expand cooperation and explore new partnership areas.

The discussions also delved into potential collaboration on digital solutions development projects and supporting the transition to cloud computing. The meeting further reviewed the ongoing cooperation with Huawei in digital capacity-building, facilitated through programs implemented in partnership with the Information Technology Institute (ITI) and the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI), aimed at equipping young people with digital skills across various technology specializations.
