Cabinet Refutes Rumors of Curfew and Public Holiday

Cairo: The Cabinet has publicly denied online reports about imposing a night time curfew, declaring a public holiday on Thursday, March 26, 2026, or extending the suspension of studies across the nation.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Cabinet's media center issued a statement clarifying that no official decisions have been made to restrict movement on public roads, ensuring that traffic and daily activities continue as normal. Furthermore, the statement dismissed rumors about granting leave to employees in both the public and private sectors.

The Cabinet also addressed misinformation regarding the extension of the suspension of studies, noting that such reports are outdated and originally pertained to the year 2020. The ministries of education and higher education have confirmed that academic activities are proceeding as planned in schools, universities, and institutes nationwide.

Citizens have been urged by the Cabinet to consult official sources for accurate information and to refrain from spreading unverified reports circulating on social media.
