Awqaf Minister Highlights Success of Egyptian-Philippine Religious Program in Promoting Coexistence

Cairo: Minister of Awqaf Osama Al-Azhari affirmed that the Egyptian-Philippine program for religious leaders represents an important step toward promoting the values of dialogue and coexistence and establishing a model of cooperation among peoples based on mutual respect, appreciation, and affection. He made the remarks during the conclusion of the program on Sunday, September 6, 2026, held under the theme 'the Egyptian experience in coexistence and building an inclusive society.'

According to State Information Service Egypt, the minister expressed his happiness at the conclusion of the program, noting that he was honored to host the Philippine delegation for several days at Egyptian churches and mosques. Additionally, the delegation had the opportunity to meet with the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmed el Tayyeb, and hear his remarks on the value of peaceful coexistence.

The minister added that the program represents 'a very significant leap' through which Egypt and the Philippines seek to present a model to billions of people around the world, demonstrating that peoples can respect, appreciate, and love one another.

The minister explained that the program represents an important platform for conveying a message to the world that the Egyptian and Philippine peoples are moving strongly toward strengthening the bonds of cooperation and rapprochement, contributing to shaping the future and supporting knowledge, creativity, and civilization.
