Aswan: Aswan, Upper Egypt, is stepping up preparations to host the 9th Afro-Asian Forum for Innovation and Technology (AAFFIAT 2026), scheduled for October 25 to 29 under the patronage of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
According to State Information Service Egypt, preparations were reviewed during a meeting between Aswan Governor Amr Lashin and Director of the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI) Ahmed Khattab, who discussed the final arrangements for the international event and ways to ensure its success. The meeting was also attended by the forum's Executive Director, Marwa Emara.
The governor emphasized the governorate's readiness to provide the necessary support for the event's success. Meanwhile, Khattab noted that the forum serves as an international platform for young people from Africa and Asia to share knowledge and strengthen cooperation in innovation.
During the visit, the Aswan governor and the NTI director toured the activities of the institute's 3rd edition of the Cybersecurity SuperHero Academy, where they stressed the importance of raising cybersecurity awareness and improving digital skills among young people.
Khattab explained that the initiative plans to train over 6,000 participants in 17 governorates in partnership with the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), the Egyptian Computer Emergency Readiness Team (EG-CERT), and several leading global companies. The goal is to create skilled professionals who can tackle cybersecurity challenges and enhance digital security.
