The committee had convened in September 2024 in Cairo under the chairmanship of the foreign ministers of the two countries.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Ambassador Fahmy praised the qualitative leap in Egyptian-Kuwaiti relations across various fields, as well as the increasing pace of high-level mutual visits. Notably, these visits included President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's visit to Kuwait in April 2025, the visit of Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to Cairo in April 2024, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly's visit in February 2025, and the visit of Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of Kuwait, to Cairo in October 2025, among other significant ministerial and sub-ministerial exchanges.

Ambassador Fahmy also commended the progress in implementing agreements reached during the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Joint Committee meetings in September 2024, particularly in economic, investment, trade, and development fields. He highlighted efforts to increase Kuwaiti investments, which rank third among Arab investments and fifth globally in foreign direct investments in Egypt, as well as efforts to enhance trade exchange. This was marked by the first session of the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Joint Ministerial Trade Committee in Kuwait in February 2025, followed by a significant visit by members of the Kuwaiti side of the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Cooperation Council in April 2025. Additionally, a large delegation from the public and private sectors, led by the Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry, participated in the first edition of the Egyptian-Gulf Trade and Investment Forum hosted by Cairo in November 2025.

The meeting emphasized the mutual commitment to enhance bilateral cooperation across various fields, aligning with the special political relations between Egypt and Kuwait. This is in line with directives from the political leaderships and builds on their strong historical and fraternal ties.

On the sidelines of the follow-up committee meeting, Ambassador Fahmy also met with His Excellency Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Deputy Foreign Minister of the State of Kuwait. Both praised the progress in bilateral relations and the ongoing coordination on various regional and international issues, including recent developments in Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Sudan, Yemen, and the Red Sea region.
